The smell of burnt pumpkins and screaming adventurers is back in World of Warcraft – Hallows End 2025 is here, and it’s time to throw stink bombs, chase the Headless Horseman, and hoard an unhealthy amount of Tricky Treats. If you’re hunting the elusive mount, farming every toy and pet, or just here for the candy, this guide covers everything you need to know.
Event Dates: October 18 – November 1, 2025
Main Attractions: Headless Horseman Dungeon, Trick-or-Treat Buckets, Shade of the Horseman, and the Wickerman Festival.

What’s New in Hallow’s End 2025
The Horseman’s got a new wardrobe and a new ride and you’re going to want both.
- Mount: Headless Horseman’s Ghoulish Charger – your first daily kill has the highest drop rate (account-wide). Each day you defeat him increases your odds.
- Ensemble: The Horseman’s Ghoulish Collection – nine guaranteed armor drops, one per day until you own them all.
- Weapons: Ghoulish Blade (1H), Great Blade (2H), and Bulwark (Shield) are now vendor items for 100 Tricky Treats each.
- Transmog Update: Patched Harvest Golem set is no longer a drop and is now purchased directly from the vendor.
How to Start Hallow’s End
Open the Dungeon Finder, queue for the Headless Horseman under Seasonal Events, and make sure you’re level 10 or above. Completing this once per day per character earns you the Loot-Filled Pumpkin which is your daily shot at rare items.
Head to your faction’s Wickerman camp (outside Stormwind or Undercity) to grab your dailies and join the festival fun. Expect fireworks, candy, buffs, and a steady stream of trick-or-treaters.
The Headless Horseman Dungeon
Location: Scarlet Monastery Graveyard
Boss Mechanics: The Horseman has multiple phases, summoning his head as a targetable add. Keep interrupting, burn adds fast, and pick up the pumpkin before anyone else.
Hardmode (Kickin’ With the Wick Achievement)
Inside the dungeon, talk to the Wicker Men on the left to apply curses. Activate all four for the “Kickin’ With the Wick” achievement and increased loot odds on your first bag of the day.
Each curse adds a mechanic like flames, hallucinations, fear chains, or thorn traps. Fail a mechanic, and you get Wicker Man’s Shadow, reducing max HP by 10% per stack. Die, and you lose your curse buffs and rewards.
Loot Highlights
- Mounts: The Horseman’s Reins, The Ghoulish Charger
- Pets: Arfus, Sinister Squashling
- Toys: Magic Broom, Headless Horseman’s Hearthstone
- Transmog: Ghoulish Ensemble pieces
- Misc: Windborne Velocidrake: Hallow’s End Armor (dragonriding appearance)

The Wickerman Festival
The Wickerman burns every few hours outside Stormwind (Alliance) and Undercity (Horde). Stand near Genn Greymane or Sylvanas to get a 1-hour Stamina/Mastery buff. Collect ashes from the bonfire for a 2-hour XP and Reputation boost.
Daily Quests:
- Stink Bombs Away! – Drop bombs on the enemy capital.
- Clean Up – Remove their stink bombs.
- A Time to Build Up / Break Down – Light or douse the Wickerman.
Each quest rewards Tricky Treats, experience, and gold.
Shade of the Horseman Event
Every 30 minutes, the Shade of the Horseman attacks six villages (Goldshire, Kharanos, Azure Watch for Alliance; Razor Hill, Falconwing Square, Brill for Horde).
Players must put out fires, defeat the Shade, and turn in Smash the Pumpkin for a Crudely Wrapped Gift. These can contain masks, candy, or even a riding broom.
Tip: The event repeats every 30 minutes so rotate through villages for easy Treats and achievements.
Tricky Treat Farming Guide
Tricky Treats are the seasonal currency and the only thing between you and that ridiculous horse costume. You’ll earn them from:
- Candy Buckets in inns across Azeroth (1–3 Treats per bucket).
- Daily quests at Wickerman camps (17 Treats daily).
- Spooky Supplies conversion from your Garrison.
- Loot-Filled Pumpkin (4–6 Treats).
A dedicated player can expect around 600 Treats during the event which is enough for all major rewards if you prioritise wisely.
