It’s Legion Remix time, and oh my god I’ve been waiting for this. I’ve been playing a lot of Mists of Pandaria Classic lately, but the second Blizzard dropped the Remix announcement, I was in.
I played pieces of the original Legion campaign while I was levelling both my main and my alts and it was enough to realize how good the zones, dungeons, and class stories were. But Remix is so much more than simply replaying Legion. It’s Blizzard throwing the whole expansion into a blender and hitting “overdrive.”
Everything in Legion Remix feels supercharged. Levelling is wildly fast. Gear upgrades are constant. The progression curve is basically vertical. It’s the same Legion you remember, just souped up.
After just a few hours, I realized this is the Legion Expansion on crack cocaine. It’s faster, flashier, and somehow even more addictive.

The Fast Lane of Legion Remix
So what do I mean when I call Legion Remix “Legion on crack”? Simple, it’s fast. Like, stupidly fast. Think of it like Blizzard handing you a Red Bull, a jetpack, and saying “Go wild.”
I already have plans to level an entire set of Alliance characters of every class and every race, just to transfer them to my main account later. Because let’s be honest, this event is too good to waste on one alt and I have been Horde loyal since I started. So some Alliance characters will give me some diversity. My personal goals are simple: mounts, transmogs, and fun. The holy trinity of motivation.
I missed out on Mists of Pandaria Remix, and while I’ve been having fun in Mists Classic, I was dying to experience this. Legion Remix had me hyped the second it was announced, and after playing for a few hours… yeah, it’s worth the hype.
The Basics: What Legion Remix Actually Is
Legion Remix is a time-limited seasonal event that lets you create a special character called a Timerunner. You’ll replay the entire Legion expansion, but everything is accelerated, XP, loot, events, you name it.
You start at level 10 and blast your way to level 80, powering up faster than anything else in WoW right now. You can play through all 12 Legion classes, complete their campaigns, explore every zone on the Broken Isles, and take part in everything Legion was known for:
- All 12 dungeons
- 1 mega-dungeon
- 5 raids, including Emerald Nightmare and Trial of Valor at launch
- Artifact questlines and Class Order Hall campaigns
- Legion Assaults and Invasion Points
- Withered Training and the iconic World Quests
And yes, all of this comes with accelerated lockouts, boosted reputation gains, and faster Class Hall missions courtesy of the Infinite Dragonflight, who are apparently over our mortal sense of time.
How to Join the Legion Remix Event
You don’t need to own Legion or buy an expansion to play. All you need is an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time.
Even better, Classic players can jump into the fun just by installing the modern WoW client. So if you’re deep in Hardcore or Mists of Pandaria Classic, you can still hop timelines and wreck demons for a while.
Trial accounts can also join in the fun up to level 20, no subscription needed. But if you want to keep going beyond that, you’ll need to upgrade. And trust me, you’ll want to keep going.
Heroic World Tier: A Diablo Twist
Legion Remix takes a page out of Diablo’s book with the new Heroic World Tier system. Basically, you can make your world content harder with tougher enemies, more health, sometimes even affix-like abilities but the rewards go way up.
Eternus, one of the Infinite Dragonflight, is the one behind this experiment, supposedly “preparing the champions of Azeroth.” Translation: turning random mobs into mini-bosses to see if we can handle it. And honestly it’s a blast so far.
It feels good to walk into an area, know things might kill you, and still decide to pull everything anyway. And when you do survive, the loot feels earned.

Power-Ups and Buffs Everywhere
Throughout the Broken Isles, you’ll come across Timewarped Obelisks which are glowing spires that grant short-term but ridiculously strong buffs.
On my Paladin, I’ve had speed boosts, damage spikes, and even a stealth buff that literally let me sneak around like a Rogue. A Rogue. As a plate-wearing, light-wielding badass bitch Paladin. It’s absurd and I love it. Of course, Paladin isn’t the only class I’ve made. Rogue, Warrior, Priest and Hunter are amongst my other new characters and now Paladin is at 80, I can level the rest.
Every new buff makes you feel like a temporary being of higher power, which is exactly how a Remix event should feel.
Daily Research and Progression
Each day in Legion Remix, you can pick new research assignments to tackle. These range from killing demons and running dungeons to gathering Bronze Orbs mid-Skyriding.
You can bank up to six days’ worth of these quests, so even if you can’t log in daily, you won’t fall behind. That flexibility is huge, especially for players who can’t no-life their way through the entire event.
With over 100 daily research quests, you’ll never run out of things to do, and the rewards are worth it.
All the Rewards (Because Let’s Be Honest, That’s Why We’re Here)
The loot situation in Legion Remix is no joke. You can unlock:
- Dozens of new mounts
- A ton of new and returning transmog sets
- Pets, toys, and achievements
- Character titles like “Chronoscholar,” “the Infernal,” and “of the Infinite Chaos”
And new housing décor items. Blizzard confirmed these will be usable when player housing goes live. So even if you’re not a mount hoarder, this is worth grinding for.
They even added five new character slots to every account just for this event, which is perfect for people like me who can’t stop making alts.

Character Transfers: How to Keep Your Timerunners
You don’t have to wait until the end of Legion Remix to move your characters to live servers. You can transfer your Timerunner to your main account whenever you’re ready but it’s a one-way trip.
Once transferred, that character can’t go back into Remix. You’ll lose Remix-only gear, powers, and currencies, but you’ll keep your cosmetics, mounts, and titles.
When you convert your Timerunner, they’ll get a full set of level-appropriate gear, your gold, and any unopened cosmetics mailed to you. Just make sure the character is at least 24 hours old before converting.
You’ll need The War Within or Midnight expansions to play above level 70, so plan your timeline travel wisely.
The Downsides of Legion Remix
Ok, so let’s get real for a second. As much as I’ve been loving Legion Remix, my day one experience was a disaster. I logged in full of excitement and ready to blast through the Broken Isles and then… nothing. I couldn’t pick up quests, couldn’t talk to NPCs, couldn’t even interact with the world properly. It was like my character had decided to take an involuntary vow of silence and apathy.
And it wasn’t just me. Reddit, the official forums, and Discord were all on fire with players reporting the exact same issue. Thousands of us were basically standing around in Dalaran staring at broken quest markers, waiting for Blizzard to say something.
It took hours – and I mean hours – before Blizzard even acknowledged the issue. Meanwhile, their social media channels were still happily promoting Midnight pre-orders. It left a really bad taste in the community’s mouth. And it took over 16 hours for them to resolve it.
Now, I don’t want to take away from the event as a whole because it’s fun but the rollout was rough.
Levelling Tips for Legion Remix
Ok, enough complaining. Let’s talk about how to make the most of your time once things do work. If you’re just starting your first character in Legion Remix, I’ve put together some tips that will help you hit the ground running and hopefully keep you from burning out too fast.
Don’t Worry About Bronze Yet
Seriously, stop obsessing over Bronze right at the start. You’ll get tons of it naturally just by playing. Focus instead on building up your Infinite Knowledge and XP buffs.
For context: I was about 90 minutes in when I already had around 45,000 Bronze. That was enough to buy four mounts without even trying. So yeah, chill on the Bronze grind for now. Plus Blizzard will probably increase drop rates as the event progresses anyway.
Pick a Class You Actually Enjoy
This is not the time to force yourself to play something “meta.” Your first character will always be the slowest to level because you’re still unlocking buffs and figuring out the systems. Pick a class that you love both mechanically and lore-wise.
If you’ve always wanted to try a Demon Hunter, go nuts. If you want to be a Holy Priest because you enjoy watching health bars go up instead of down, do it. This event is wild enough without you hating your own rotation.
Prioritize Infinite Research Quests
These quests are key. Infinite Research gives permanent XP boosts and can be completed passively while you do other stuff. Always have one running. They also carry over across alts, so even if you’re planning to level multiple Timerunners, do these early. They’ll make every run after the first so much easier.
Avoid Heroic World Tier at the Start
I know, I know, it sounds tempting. “More XP! More loot!” But early on, Heroic World Tier will just slow you down. It increases the difficulty of mobs dramatically, and while you do get more XP from kills, it doesn’t increase quest rewards.
Basically: not worth the headache until you’ve got more gear and Infinite Power stacked up.
Finish Zone Quests and Campaigns
Legion Remix is as much about speed as it’s about unlocking content. Completing all zone quests will progress your story, increase your reputations, and unlock World Quests and other systems faster.
Plus, Blizzard packed these zones with rares, treasures, and achievements that are genuinely fun to chase down. Think of it like playing through a new expansion with boosted rewards.
Run Dungeons and Raids (But Be Smart About It)
Every dungeon and raid in Legion Remix has achievements tied to them, and they’re all worth doing at least once.
If you can, wait until you get quests from your zone campaign or class campaign that line up with those runs, it makes the grind more efficient. Bonus points if you can pair them with an Infinite Research quest, too.
Timewarped Obelisks Are Your Friends
If you see a glowing Timewarped Obelisk, click it. Every. Single. Time. These things grant temporary but powerful buffs that can turn a slow quest into a whirlwind of explosions and speed boosts. They spawn frequently during combat in the open world, and each one feels like a mini power-up moment.
Leveling Milestones in Legion Remix
One of the coolest parts of Legion Remix is how smoothly the progression unfolds. Everything unlocks at just the right pace, giving you a sense of progression without overwhelming you with systems too early. If you’re wondering when new content becomes available for your Timerunner, here’s the full breakdown of level milestones and what they unlock.
Level 10
- Starting level for all Legion Remix characters
- Access to Normal Dungeons
- Class Campaigns become available
- Zone Campaigns begin
This is your baseline. You’ll pick up your Artifact Weapon, start your Class Order Hall story, and jump into your first dungeons.
Level 20
- Heroic Dungeons unlock
- LFR and Normal Raids become available
- Accessories that add trait ranks to your Infinite Artifact Weapon start dropping
Level 20 is where you really start feeling your power spike. You’ll notice the gear upgrades coming faster, and the raids start opening up for those who want to test their strength early.
Level 30
- World Quests unlock
- Class campaigns continue
Once you hit 30, the world opens up. You’ll start seeing World Quests across the Broken Isles which are great for Bronze farming, Infinite Research progress, and experience.
Level 40
- Unlocks 10% increased experience gains for your entire account (first character only)
This is a big one. Your first character will unlock this bonus, and it applies across your whole account. That means every alt you make afterward will level even faster.
Level 70
- Moratari’s Infinite Wisdom unlocked
- Grants +250% XP gains for that specific character
By now, you’re basically flying through levels. This bonus makes it easier to finish your campaign or experiment with Heroic World Tier without slowing down.
Level 80
- Mythic Dungeons unlock
- Heroic & Mythic Raids available
- Unlock another 10% account-wide XP gain
Level 80 marks the end of your main levelling journey and the start of true endgame content. You’ll also unlock your final account-wide XP bonus, making every future Timerunner a levelling machine.
Experience Boosts in Legion Remix
If you want to speed things up even more, Legion Remix offers several ways to permanently increase your XP gains. Most of these are account-wide, meaning your future characters will benefit automatically once unlocked.
Epoch Mementos
The two main XP boost items in Legion Remix are:
- Resonant Epoch Memento – Grants +1% XP (account-wide)
- Perfected Epoch Memento – Grants +10% XP (account-wide)
How to Earn Them:
- Resonant Epoch Mementos come from Infinite Research assignments, and you can earn up to two per assignment.
- Perfected Epoch Mementos are awarded for completing major milestones and quests:
- +10% for completing the introductory quest chain
- +10% for completing Just Between Us (Artifact Weapon quests)
- +10% for The End of an Epoch Journey
- +10% for completing the main campaign in each of the five levelling zones (50% total)
- +10% for reaching level 40 on your first character
- +10% for reaching level 80 on any character
That’s a total of 100% permanent XP gain possible across your account — and it stacks beautifully with other boosts.
Other XP Boosts
Outside of Epoch Mementos, there are a couple of other powerful experience modifiers:
- Moratari’s Infinite Wisdom (Level 70) – Grants +250% XP on that character only.
- Heroic World Tier – Adds +500% XP from enemy kills in the open world.
Just note: Heroic World Tier doesn’t boost quest XP, and early on, it can slow you down if your gear isn’t strong enough. Use it later when you’re focusing more on gear and Infinite Power.
Tracking Your Progress
If you ever want to check your XP buffs or see where you’re at with milestones, visit the Infinite Bazaar. Everything related to Infinite Research, Mementos, and XP bonuses can be tracked from there.
And don’t forget all these buffs stack, and they’re account-wide, so the more you play, the faster future Timerunners will level.

Final Thoughts: The Mount Dilemma
One thing I’m still undecided about is Midnight’s Eternal Reins which is the mount that drops from Return to Karazhan. Since the first time I started playing World of Warcraft, that horse has been on my wishlist. I’ve farmed it almost every week, and it just refuses to drop.
Now, in Legion Remix, it’s sitting right there in the Infinite Bazaar, gleaming like temptation itself, for 100,000 Bronze. And I can afford it if I farm for a couple of hours.
But that’s the problem, isn’t it? If I buy it, will it feel as good as finally seeing it drop after all those runs? There’s something about the grind, the patience, the little jolt of excitement every time you open that loot window. When you finally get it, it means something. Buying it feels like skipping the story to watch the ending.
So, I don’t know yet. Maybe I’ll hold off and keep running Karazhan. Maybe I’ll cave and buy it at 3 a.m. when I’m tired and shiny things start looking like good ideas.
Although to be honest, I want to buy it all. That’s my ultimate goal. Farm all of it. What about you? What’s on your Legion Remix farming list? Mounts? Transmog? That one piece of gear that’s been haunting your dreams since 2016?
Let me know what you’re chasing, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll be over here still running Return to Karazhan.
