It’s been almost three months since my last post here, which is weird for me. I’m usually not this quiet and if you’ve followed me on any of my other blogs like Jess and her Gentlemen, Sarcasm and Stardust, or my personal diary-style blog, then you know I tend to post often. Weekly, at least.
But life’s been busy. Gaming time has slipped way down the list lately, and even though this blog has been untouched, I haven’t forgotten about it. I’m still looking forward to getting back into Thedas as soon as I can.
I was planning on continuing Dragon Age recently. It was on my schedule. And then Occult Crescent dropped in Final Fantasy XIV and I finally got round to logging in for it. So yeah… my priorities changed fast.

Final Fantasy Problems
If you’ve been around me long enough then you know I’ve been playing FFXIV for over a decade. So when something new like Occult Crescent drops, then I’m all in. That means Thedas is on hold while I throw myself into mount farming and glamour hunting like my life depends on it.
I’ll be honest, I’m one of the few weirdos who doesn’t love Field Operations in XIV. It’s grindy, repetitive, and after a few runs, I’m ready to scream. But the mounts make it worth it. I need that Petalodus, and even more than that, I want the Demon Haul.
And then there’s the gear. Some of the Occult Crescent sets are too good to pass up. It’s like someone mashed together Ancient Greek, Renaissance, Roman, and a sprinkle of Eastern fantasy, and my brain immediately went “glam project time.”
I’m also still levelling Bard in Dawntrail (a year later, I’m slow this time), which would go faster if I could stop getting distracted.
If You’ve Never Played an MMO… Maybe Don’t
Here’s my unsolicited advice: if you’ve never played an MMO, don’t. It will eat your time, chew it up, and spit it out with zero remorse. There’s always something to do and always a next mount, next relic, next dungeon, next gear set.
I love it. Deeply. But fuck, I wish I had more hours in the day to actually enjoy all of it.
So for now, this blog is on a bit of a pause while I work my way through FFXIV’s latest distraction and then get back to working and all that good stuff. But once I get a little more time (and a few more mounts), I’ll be right back into Dragon Age and sharing that part of the story with you right here.
But for now, Eorzea wins.
Until next time.
